Lorie is a daughter of a friend of my mother’s. I never met her before our first consultation, but she looks so much like “Auntie” (Lorie’s mom), I recognized her right away upon first seeing her.
Lorie and her fiance Jericho–who has a cool name, BTW–are really chill cats from San Francisco. Lorie is a San Diego transplant, but nevertheless, she has the same unpretentious vibe that Jericho, a native, gives out. They wanted to explore what Downtown San Diego had to offer at night, so we decided to take this approach for their engagement session.
Many thanks to Leilani, my sister-in-law and BKM lighting assistant!

Indra and Jenae are yet another wonderful couple we were fortunate to meet–a continuing benefit of being in this business. They had a low-key, intimate ceremony at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church that was full of affection and feeling, not only from the bride and groom, but by both families as well. I know I sound like a broken record, but I just love seeing this ancient ritual–the wedding–performed over and over again.
But everything was let loose at the reception, held at Admiral Baker Clubhouse. It is a beautiful venue, and the party rocked all night. As an added plus, we got to work with a good friend of ours, Melissa Barrad of I Do… Weddings! Melissa is a total pro, and we love working with her. A competent coordinator is worth his or her weight in gold, brides!
